Ngakia departure mystery deepens

|

Jeremy Ngakia’s agents at no stage made demands on the figures they wanted to agree for the right back to sign a new deal with West Ham United.

And it now remains to be seen where the 19 year old moves to as mystery continues to shroud the reasons for his departure from the club.

That he has chosen to walk away without seeing the season out suggests that there’s a lot more to the situation than meets the eye.

And despite a report from the Daily Mail claimed he wanted £20k a week whilst another more recent one said it was £8k, we have learned that despite various offers the agents never got down to discussing figures.

Given the enormous gulf in the quoted wage estimates that actually makes sense with a seemingly lot of guesswork involved.

It’s giving nothing away at all to explain that the usual offer in the early days of an academy graduate’s first team squad emergence is 5k basic plus appearance bonuses with a basic review after every 15 games – a position that was adopted with Declan Rice and Grady Diangana.

But on this occasion we have learned that Ngakia’s agents never gave a response one way of the other.

Instead, they are claimed to have made it clear  they wanted their client to leave on a free transfer at the end of June – a decision which has drawn a strong rebuke from manager David Moyes.

And a senior insider told CandH on e mail: “At  no time did Jeremy’s agents give the club a figure they would find  acceptable and finally told us he would be leaving.”

I think I read that Moyes said the player said “it’s not his decision where to play”, which suggests it’s in the agents hands ( if true).
Question being if it’s not his decision, then what’s the difference between 3rd party ownership and the contract that he has signed with his agent?
Should be looked at, just to challenge the agent.
I couldn’t care if he left they all do eventually.

He’s had 4 decent games (Maybe 3 decent, 1 average) and his agent thinks he’s the next Cafu. Wow that doesn’t happen over and over and over again in football!!!
Nothing sadder in the game than seeing young talented footballers, either shockingly advised or get too big for their boots after a couple of games.

This should be totally against the rules. There has been no communication with the agent. He was nurtured with the academy. These are not normal circumstances and so He should not be allowed to leave and if so,there should be a 10 million fee, seeing as that is what it will cost us to get another decent right back.Players need to be prevented from walking all over their clubs.Total lack of respect.

It is quite alarming that Agents are demanding this cause of action especially under the current circumstances.
Nearly all footballers, only a few will be able to demand the same wages as they are on,will have to take a cut from their astronomical wages. New contracts willl be lower especially in Europe. £1 Billion less in the PL is 1 estimate. Can’t see where he’s going to get more than £20,000. Such as shame
He’s a telented footballer and we need him. Having either Fredricks or Zabeletta at right back in the next 3 games could well relegate us.
