Nicholas is a proper Charlie

|

charlieSo called football pundit, Charlie Nicholas has told Sky Sports at the weekend that West Ham have a problem defensively.

Nicholas says he feels that West Ham don’t have the defensive reinforcements that some of their rivals for the European spots do, and they can look vulnerable at the back.

The former Gooner argued that James Tomkins’ inclusion at right back proves that West Ham are weak in defence, but he has not ruled out their chances of making it into the top four this season.

“The problem for me is still at the back,” he said. “They are still a bit vulnerable at the back, even though their goalkeeper is very good. Perhaps that is because of the injury situation, with James Tomkins having to play right back. There’s still a good feel about West Ham though. We will be talking about the top four for them soon.”

West Ham have let in just two goals in their last six matches and 23 across the whole season. Leicester City in second place have conceded more goals at 25 this season. We have conceded one goal less than Liverpool and two more than Man City. Don’t even even get me started on Chelsea who have shipped 29 this season. We have completed 7 clean sheets in 20 matches this season. We have not lost at the Boleyn Ground  since august when we lost to Bournemouth 4-3 and we have a positive goal difference of +7 for once.

If I knew as little about my Job as these pundits do I would be sacked, if I went into a meeting without first researching what I was talking about I would be torn to pieces and yet week in and week ourthese highly paid so called experts say the first thing that comes into their heads without the slightest shred of reality. Jenkinson has not performed, Tomkins has been fantastic at right back and as a right sided CB this switch is not out of the ordinary and once has done many times in the past and does not show a lack of depth in the squad. Yes when Jenks gets sent back to Arsenal at the end of the season after they ask for a ludicrous fee we do need to get in a regular RB but until then we have it covered with Tomkins and Jenks and if needs be Hendrie who is a right footed LB. Reese Oxford can also play RB so Charlie has proved yet again he shouts his mouth off without knowing what the hell he is talking about.

Bizarre comments. It makes you wonder whether they even watch the matches, they have the easiest job in the world and cannot get the basics right.

Soccer Saturday is clearly a ‘job for the boys’. Full of footballing dinosaurs who have no idea. At least MOTD have got rid of theirs. I don’t know why we get wound up by the likes of these idiots. Most of them clearly have a angst against us. I’m past caring, every week the boys prove them wrong.

In fairness he did also say we could get in the top 4, strange comments though agreed.
