Ogbonna tops dismal player ratings

The first Claret and Hugh ratings of the 2020/2021 player ratings are in with over 400 entries from readers unimpressed with the first Hammers game against Newcastle United.

Angelo Ogbonna received the Claret and Hugh man of the match with an average rating of 5.21  closely followed by Tomas Soucek on 5.17

Michail Antonio was placed third with a rating of 4.91 while Andriy Yarmolenko was rated fourth with an average rating of 4.70 from a maximum of ten.

Łukasz Fabianski was next on 4.59 with Ryan Fredericks on 4.43 Declan Rice on 4.35 Jarrod Bowen on 4.31 and finally last of the four scores Issa Diop on 4.3

Top of the three scores was Pablo Fornals on 3.91, Seb Haller scored an average of  3.63, Aaron Cresswell was rated 3.34, West Ham captain Mark Noble managed just  3.25 with the lowest average score awarded to Felipe Anderson on 3.15.

Manager David Moyes scored a low 2.97 while the match officials polled 4.18 and VAR 3.6 out of 10

    I think that is a bit harsh on Anderson – I dont think that he was actually on teh field long enough to even get a rating
