Oggy: “We had a bit of luck …but it’s not just luck”

|

On a night when CandH’s player ratings will probably be mediocre at best, Angelo Ogbonna showed again that he is the rock at the heart of a defence which has now conceded just three goals in the last five games.

The guy has been a revelation again this season, marshalling a defence which despite getting a run around at times last night, held firm for just one Villa goal after the central defender had bombed home a header to give us the lead.

He – along with Declan and, Tomas Soucek -has become a real star in this revitalised and ( all together now) FIFTH PLACED Hammers team.

We have been credited with a very good squad for a long time now but Oggy has been among the most consistent of them all and his first goal in a year was a just return for his efforts during last night’s tough clash.

About time.I was getting fed up of “Fortune always running”.Old cliches but winning and losing become habits and Lady Luck is smiling on us at the moment.I still get nightmares from the 2006 Cup Final that was stolen from us by her.
