Payet betrayal helps Sullivan unity pledge

David Sullivan’s New Year resolution to “unite us completely moving forward” seemed optimistic to say the least when it appeared on the official website.

And yet just 12 days into 2017 the club and supporters are indeed united and that is down entirely to Monsiuer Payet’s unexpected decision to down tools.

That has gone down like a lead balloon among all of us and wherever you look on social media there are statements of support for the club and their stance, for Slaven Bilic and for the squad.

There are lots of “no player is bigger than the club” comments and plenty of calls for the crowd to give everything they have on Saturday to get behind the team.

I can’t wait for the game now – we love a villain, we love battling against the odds and of course, if there was any extra motivation still needed, we only need look in the away dugout to see Big Sam, ready to cup his ear at the first opportunity.

Never dull is it!!! COYI
