Pellegrini discusses the ‘window’ requirements

|

Manuel Pellegrini has issued his first comments on the Hammers summer transfer window activities declaring: “I will work hard with the director of football to try to make a very strong squad.”

Speaking to the official site he has made it clear he wants a balanced squad – not simply a decent first team.

The manager and his Director of Football Mario Husillos are expected back in London shortly and already they have been linked with up to 10 players.

And having made it clear he wants three or four new players minimum he said:  “We have time over the next two months to see which better players we can bring here.

“Maybe a lot of people are thinking about defenders because last season West Ham had the worst defensive record in the league, so we must arrange that, but we must also have a balanced squad and not just a team.”
