Poll: Should Hernandez be allowed to depart?

|

Javier Hernandez appears to be on the verge of a West Ham departure as he takes a medical today to join Sevilla before the Spanish transfer window closes tomorrow.

With Michail Antonio &  Xande Silva both now injured and Sebastien Halle & Ablian Ajeti the only two recognised strikers we ask whether the club should put a late hold on the transfer to force the Mexican to wait until January when a replacement could be found.

The 31-year-old Mexican striker slapped in a transfer request on Thursday saying he is desperate to return to a Spanish speaking country.

In today’s Claret and Hugh poll we ask whether the club should allow Hernandez to go and take the money now or make him stay until January.

Personally i would rather he stayed as due to the stupid decision to have different transfer deadline days it does not allow MP to replace him.

  • Dom says:

If reports are true that it’s 7-8m. I say yes, combined with wages, that gives us 12m to spend in January on whatever Pellegrini and Husillos feel is needed. Left back or CDM preferably.

No doubting it’s a risk though. Ajeti unproven in the Premier League. Hernandez scores goals.

Yarmolenko can play striker also or as mentioned previously we have that many goal scoring midfielders if we had to we could play with a false 9 until we can replace him.

    • Blimey! says:

A false 9…? You mean like Andy Carroll. ?????

Truthfully, 32 is spot on, with Anderson, Yarmalenko, Snoddy, Fornals, Lanzini and Wilshire, (not forgetting 2nd top scorer Mark Noble) all able to contribute, There’ll be ok for a couple of games…. £12+mil. saving well worth it!

  • Oliver Burns says:

We have had quite enough of players not wanting to play for us. Sensible business to get a fee before he becomes free agent. Saving wages isn’t a factor as we’ll have to pay wages to a replacement, although hopefully something less than we have had to pay him

Let him go ..it’s very very obvious that his heart is not in WHU..thanks for your goals but Adios Amigo
