Rafa Benitez lined up if Slaven Bilic fails

|

Slavin Bilic West Ham Manager Face Rafa Benitez Close UpThe Sunday Express this morning claims that Rafa Benitez is being lined up to take over West Ham if Slaven Bilic fails to turn things around in September.

Bilic had talks with Hammers co-owner Dave Sullivan after his side lost their opening three games and the Croatian rejected the chance to strengthen his squad with Bayern Munich’s Renato Sanches, who joined Swansea, and Paris Saint-Germain’s Grzegorz Krychowiak, who moved to West Brom on loan.

Benitez is considering his future in the northeast after being denied the funds by Mike Ashley he believed he needed to strengthen his squad.

Benitez is highly thought of by the Hammers board and came close to taking over at the club two years ago, until Real Madrid hijacked their bid.

He has previously said he feels indebted to the Hammers after his eleventh-hour change of mind. He does have a £6million exit clause in his Newcastle contract for which the Hammers would have to pay.

1/ Why is the owner telling the worlds press about deals rejected by the manager?
2/ This is Bilics chance to put the record straight as its clear his days are numbered by the clubs owners.

Sean – Who says Bilic declined the offer of Sanches and the WBA Pole? Sully was it? Must be true then. Our club has a board who can’t stop talking – they are either hanging out Bilic or slagging off another club, whilst Bilic is forced to keep his own counsel as he can hardly point the finger back at his employer. If you look at the wages these two supposed offers are on, do you believe for one second that Sully would have successfully brought them in? He’d have negociated (his term) until they fell through. Whilst I’ve lost faith in Bilic, and agree a change is needed, I’d rather we acted with dignity and made a speedy change, as opposed to heaping even more crap on him and dragging out the inevitable. Not the way to do business or to treat people. Shame on us. And Benitez, well he will certainly be having second thoughts when he sees how our owners treat a manager. Frying pan and fire springs to mind.

Don’t believe it. Not sure if the above is repeating what the express says or whether some of it is from a wh source.
Our board lacks any class in its dealings and I am sure benetiz will think carefully about that (acknowledging he does work for Ashley). We probably wouldn’t meet his buy out clause- good luck nickle and diming with MA-and he also earns about £1m pa more than bilic.

Why do Gold and Sullivan have so much to say, when was the last time Director’s from other Clubs made so many comments about there Clubs dealings, they need to keep their cards close to there chest and back Bilic or get rid…..GOLD & SULLIVAN KEEP YOUR MOUTHS SHUT AND JUST INVEST IN THE CLUB, YOUR MAKING OUR CLUB A LAUGHING STOCK. GIVE THE SUPPORTER’S WHAT THEY DESERVE IN RETURN FOR THE MONEY THE SUPPORTER’S GIVE THE CLUB, THE DIRECTORS HAVE THE OBLIGATION TO INVEST THAT MONEY IN THE CLUB!……..COYI !

My take is that if I was a journo short of a story I would be thinking ‘Benitez p***** off? Bilic failing? Hmm I can make something out of that’. Not sure about the headline above ‘IF Bilic fails?’ Oh well, more concise than ‘Because Bilic is failing’ I suppose.

Moyes, GW??Now you have really spoiled my day!

  • Hammerkip says:

I for one hope it happens.. Nothing against Slav but as I said before just not up to the job.. …I think benitez would get more out of the squad we have at the min ..thin as it is ..

Look we all know Billic is failing and has no plan B. We need a change and a manager that commands more respect thats all fine. What is embarrassing for us as a club is the way the owners have gone about it and as mentioned above the fact that Slav has to sit and take it.

Slav, the writing is pretty much on the wall, the board have failed you and distanced themselves from you. For your own pride and dignity speak up now set the record straight and give us fans some clarity as to who is right or wrong. So much confusion everyone is blaming everyone.
