Ratings 2: Irons marked up v Liverpool

|

Niall hands out his marks

Fabianski: Well beaten by all three fine goals 6
Coufal: Very focussed, disciplined defending for an hour 6
Ogbonnna: Also handled Liverpool’s front three well before they stepped it up 6
Dawson: Toughest test of his short Hammers career. Stuck at it and another set piece goal 7
Cresswell: One fine interception on Salah before being turned for their opener, won’t have to face him again this season at least 6
Rice: Out manuervered by the Liverpool diamond in midfield and looked very weary by the end 6
Soucek: May have had to reign it in a little today after his booking 6
Fornals: Did his defensive duties. Little chance to create as we prioritised attacking down the right 6
Bowen: Variable set piece delivery today, no shortage of effort just little end product 6
Benrahma: Bright start again, then disappointingly moved wide left where he seemed to drift out of the game 6
Antonio: Very limited opportunities to test Henderson and Phillips, either in the air or on the floor 6

Subs
Yarmolenko: Good ammunition for the ‘we need to sign a striker’ brigade 4
Noble: Not my idea of an attacking substitution, got a few tackles in 4
Fredericks: Another strange choice, not being renowned for his attacking play 3

A fair assessment. Other than Dawson and Fabianski, would probably knock a point off across the board.
