Niall hands out his marks
Fabianski: No chance with their goal but some very confident saves to preserve the win 8
Coufal: Typically robust display, 100% focus against Son 8
Diop: Back to the form of his debut season 8
Dawson: Adds Kane to his list of strikers to have drawn a blank against him in this marvellous run 8
Cresswell: Busy afternoon, especially when Spurs stepped it up and lost the cover from Fornals ahead of him 8
Rice: Best centre-midfielder on the field again today 8
Soucek: Cut early on, but didn’t let it affect his play 7
Fornals: Liked his attitude today – got stuck in and wound up a few opponents 7
Lingard: Flashes of brilliance, typified by his goal 7
Bowen: Great defensive cover for Coufal again, a few ‘nearly’ breaks and through balls, looked a bit weary by the time of his substitution 6
Antonio: Played well within himself. Made the goal with his strength and awareness 7
Subs Benrahma: Plenty of tricks, possibly not best suited to the rearguard action 6
Johnson: Came on at left wing-back as we battened down the hatches 5
Noble: On in stoppage time No rating

Soucek was a monster deserve a rating of 8 at least .

Fabulous attitude from our lads! Bowen is great but trying to cover front and back every time is tiring him. Forrnals needs a ‘picture’ when attacking – he is our turnover danger. Spuds stretched us second half but the diamond Ben Johnson changed the dynamic. What a performance by those Irons – proud of you.

Excellent ratings, I must say that the RB Coufal has been the most incredible signing, today he looked after that right side with very little support from Bowen who looked a little off the pace. I thought Fabianski was outstanding possibly a 9 and perhaps the man of the match. It was great to see Diop playing so well, I really hope it continues. But my man of the match was Fornals, I just dont get it with some of our fans, I never seen a workrate like his workrate in that first half, it was incredible and set the tone for the whole team performance, he would be in my team every week. An intelligent player too, incredible performance. I thought Lindgard again did well but I thought Antonio and Bowen were below their best. An incredible result against a top team.

Wow … all those 8’s dear sir ?
As a former footballer and coach I watch all the West Ham games with passion and great delight when they win.

But have been very concerned with the terrible performances of all of the infield players in front of our defence. Micky today was superb. Welcome back son.

The combination of Coufal/Bowen gimme the creeps. Count the many crosses last match from our right side, and the amount of crosses again today. Extremely concerning.

Fab, and His defence were superb today, except for our wingbacks, which includes Cresswell who stepped away from Lucas Moura for the unfortunate goal.

Superb goals by Antonio and Jesse. Real strong goals.

Grateful. Coyi. God bless West Ham.

They can’t catch us now! Everton and Villa have had games on hand that meant they could leapfrog us – until this weekend’s results. It’s in our hands now. 🙂 COYI

Lower for Cress who was outnumber bytiny Moira for the Spud goal
Fornals maybe 8 as he was involved in both goals with a lovely deft touch for the second.

  • GaryD says:

Benrhama remains a defensive liability. I would have brought Johnston on earlier and moved Fornals forward.

Hugh, what has happened to us fans rating the team and players?
Always look forward to giving points and comments.
Must say the team are playing marvellous.
Not since Pardew’s team on the cup run in 2006 and of course the Boy’s of 86, have we played with such a strong and great team spirit. Every player is giving his all and also playing technically really well. An 8 out of 10 all round, performance wise, but 10 out of 10 for commitment.
