According to a report from the Sunday People The Hammers are prepared to loan Grady Diangana out for the coming season, with a number of clubs interested in the Academy winger.
Diangana made his senior debut in the Carabao Cup tie with Macclesfield last season with the 21-year-old scoring twice in an 8-0 win.
He remained in the first-team squad for the rest of the season, making 21 appearances in all competitions, including 17 in the Premier League but may struggle to beat that in the coming seasons.
A number of Championship clubs are said to be interested and he could well take up the offer of regular starts week in, week out in the lower division rather than waiting for the chance of an occasional substitute role and early cup rounds.
Diangana was included in the pre-season trips to Switzerland, Austria and China and played in yesterday’s 1-0 loss against Newcastle in the Premier League Asia Trophy.
I’d be interested to see how he does on loan to the famous ‘decent Championship side’. I think he needs to show he can handle the physicality of the Championship. If he excels, we could have a useful player on our hands. As it stands, he doesn’t offer enough for me other than looking tricky. I’d rather see Nathan Holland given an opportunity.
