Report: Hammers chasing Championship kid

|

West Ham are chasing Bristol City youngster Alex Scott, according to a new report from The Daily Mail.

The newspaper reports that the Championship club are readying themselves for bids from Premier League clubs as well as European sides for Scott.

The 18-year-old has a contract until 2025 and has established himself as a key man this season.

He has made 27 appearances in the Championship and has scored three goals while also registering two assists.

Scott plays primarily as an attacking midfielder but is also capable of playing in central midfield or on the right wing.

He is an England U19 international and the Mail reports that the Irons are keeping tabs on his development ahead of a potential bid in the summer.

They are not alone, though, with Leicester and Everton also sending scouts to watch him, and Bristol are in poor financial health, recording a pre-tax loss of £38m in their most recent financial results, so a sale may well be inevitable.
