Report: Hammers’ Masuaku decision

|

David Moyes may choose to keep Arthur Masuaku at the club, according to The Athletic.

There were reports suggesting that the left-back would be leaving the Irons this summer.

But the Athletic has now reported that he may well be kept around just to provide cover and depth beyond Aaron Cresswell.

Of course, the Hammers have also recently signed Nayef Aguerd, who can also play at left-back, so Masuaku would likely be a third-choice option.

Last season, he saw his playing time diminish and made 12 Premier League appearances in total.

He made just six starts throughout the top-flight season and his contract expires in 2024, meaning this summer is not the final chance the club have to receive a fee for him.

It remains to be seen if Masuaku will try to push for a move that would almost certainly offer greater playing time, but it seems as though the club’s plan has changed.

WHAT ! This is sentiment gone made. Why keep a Player that isn’t good enough.

I really hope we give Longelo a chance at left back (as I think he is a left sided player?)
Or we actually go for a specialist upgraded lady back to Cressy. He has been a great servant but it’s time to renew that area and Mas is not the option we need now.

Is moyes on a suicide mission . Keeping masu and Cresswell both need going asp. If that happened we can start looking for a new coach as moyes has a brain storm and certainly isn’t good enough for west ham . Longelo as back up to a new left back of quality needed asp and Johnson can also play back up too.

So Moyes is prepared to let Soucek go & keep Arthur………..
That just confirms that Moyes is not fit to oversee this transfer window, willing to let a goal scorer go to keep a man who is a liability at the back……
    Worrying times !!!!

Spot on bella if true . Even selling benny third highest goals and second highest assists yet masu can stay with Cresswell also a liability.

Probably the most depressing & perplexing news of the summer; so far. Please let it not be true !

Hahaha. It’s 1 report in 1 column and immediately taken as gospel by the Moyes out brigade. It’s gonna be a long few weeks.
