Bournemouth’s striker Josh King is reportedly holding out for a £120,000-a-week deal to agree personal terms with a new club.
A tabloid says Fulham are interested in joining Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Everton and West Ham for the forward’s signature.
It remains to be seen whether any of his suitors are prepared to pay him that much should the report be true or whether he will remain at Bournemouth for his remaining six months of hiks current contract.
On the face of it, they do appear to be far too high wages for a striker with no Championship goals this season.
Let’s see if he holds his nerve as the end of the winter transfer window approaches on 1st February as clubs cool their interest.
In addition to the £6.2m annual wages, Bournemouth are looking for offers of £10m and over to try to recoup some money but again could be forced to drop their demands as February approaches.
Over 6 million £‘S a year wages , £10+ million transfer fee 🤣🙃 . Zero goals in the Championship this year and always injured . What’s not too like ?? 💩
£6.2 million a year wages , £10-+ million transfer fee ( when its £0 in 6 months . Zero goals in the Championship this season , injury prone and 28 years old . What’s not to like 👀💩🤣⚒
I’ve said before, not for me. He is not that quick, has not been prolific at all on his own, and even with Wilson was ‘second’ striker. He did well last time out, fair play, but that wasn’t Premier League. A huge gamble and late in his career wants a huge wage. Please look elsewhere.
Time to move on from this he is no worth that sort of money. There a better players out there he hasn’t been prolific enough to warrant those wages.
We don’t need players who may upset the good spirit at the club at the moment.
Worrying if true and it NEVER ends well with players whose sole focus is money and not about doing the business on the pitch where it counts.
Can a player like that be trusted not to go rogue on us once he’s signed up on a massive contract?
Yes, The Cat – I agree. We want players who want to come and play for West Ham, not play for who will pay the most. There was a lot of interest in another post yesterday about European qualification and the ‘Next Level’. A big part of my ‘next level’ is not paying over-inflated salaries to players with over-inflated opinions of themselves. David Moyes has brought some sanity to the club and appears to look for value, not marquee signings. Yes, ideally we need a striker but not at any cost.
Tell him to jog on! No club is going to offer him £120k a week even without a fee
Whilst we don’t exactly have anything resembling a sensible transfer strategy – especially when it comes to strikers – not even DS would seriously contemplate that deal………….. would he????
I’m with the “not for me contingent” on this guy. Personally, I would stick with the current squad and wait until the summer window opens. I believe we have various options – with or without Antonio – to see us comfortably to the end of the season.
Agree. There is no urgency. We will not win EPL this year and haven’t the depth to play Europe next year. Have options for striker, use them.
News today, Everton not interested because of his high wage demands!!! That says a lot about him and his worth?? So let’s move on and find another striker , and one that’s NOT interested in (“show me the money “) first before any thing else??
I want a player whose hungry, quick and wants to fight for the team and improve . Not someone hungry for money. ⚒
No thanks, not at that price or any other price, a championship player living in cloud cuckoo land…
