Report: Midfielder bid needs upping

|

West Ham are continuing to be linked with a potential swoop to sign Napoli star Piotr Zielinski.

Italian reports claim that there is interest from the Hammers in signing the Poland international in this transfer window.

Journalist Ciro Venerato, who operates as a Napoli expert, reports that a bid has been tabled, but it is not high enough for the Serie A club to do business.

The bid is worth €30m (£25.2m) plus €5m (£4.2m) in add-ons, but Napoli value the player at €45m. That’s £37.9m.

It means the two sides are some way apart in their valuations and the Hammers will have to increase their offer if they want to land the Pole.

Zielinski has been with Napoli since 2016 and has made 281 appearances for the Serie A giants, scoring 40 goals and laying on 33 assists.

He has won 72 caps for his country.

David Moyes may well be interested in a deal for Zielinski but such a fee seems difficult to countenance after the signing of Gianluca Scamacca.

Corriere Dello Sport supposedly saying we upped offer and it was accepted, now we need to convince the player to move, hopefully that’s correct but who knows in silly season.
