Rodon rumour may roll on a YEAR!

|

Hopes appear to be rising that Swansea central defender Joe Rodon may be on his way to the Hammers although as ever  its a scenario surrounded by ifs and buts.

First reported by Jacob Steinberg in the Guardian it was followed in some media by claims that a £30 million fee would be involved.

It came on top of David Sullivan’s controversial talkSPORT interview in which he made it clear that he was still waiting for the manager to decide on targets.

And then ExWHUemployee added that he had sent the name to Sullivan and published his reply about the player.

Ex reported: Joe Rodon at Swansea. We had some enquires. I’m led to believe that we could get him for about £12-15m. Swansea are not in a good position financially and need to sell players.

I sent that knowledge on to David Sullivan. And the response that I got from that was: ‘We know the player well, in a year he could be very good’.”

That sort of comment from Sullivan coincides with many conversations we have had in the past with agents who have recommended players to Sullivan and been told the same thing.

“Ready in a year” appears to suggest “He’s not ready now”

Unless there’s a determination by the chief shareholder to appease the fans after his car crash interview yesterday this one may well go the same way.

We’ll see!

The fact that Ex WHU Employee knows this sort of stuff, and is usually correct, to me, is more proof that West Ham is currently run like a Sunday pub team. Can anyone imagine David Dein in his pomp at Arsenal, or Daniel Levy currently, letting the sort of info that Ex has access to leak from their respective clubs? I’d be surprised if Ex is getting his info from Moyes (because he’s been consistently right whoever the manager has been), and so it can only come from Sullivan.

    • Hold on a minute Jacob Steinberg broke the story initially – credit where it’s due. As everybody knows the hammers is the leakiest club in the country. It’s not hard picking up on someone else’s question and mailing the club. We all do it

I won’t hold my breath, as our current owners are giving everyone a masterclass in how NOT to run a football club. A club of Massive potential, playing in the Best league in the world. As the transfer window draws to a close, many of us supporters have come to feel transfer rumour weary. I cannot even begin to remember the players that have been linked to this club.
But Mr Sullivan made that so much clearer yesterday. So I thank him for now being able to ignore such rumours.

Yeh l didn’t think you would run my comment. You put yourself out there with your multitude of articles, you make $$ from them and fair enough. But have the balls to accept all comments not just kiss ass comments supporting everything you say.

    • Not here for abuse. Had more than my share G’day. There are hundreds of comments which don’t necessarily support me and as far as I can see your one and only comment has been published. Try to be less predictable. I’ve been hearing all that crap for six years. Meaningless tripe
