Romano: New signing closing in

Emerson is set to be confirmed as a West Ham player.

Fabrizio Romano reports that the Chelsea defender is closing in on a move to the Hammers after the official paperwork was signed by the two clubs.

The Irons have tabled a £13m bid for Emerson, which was accepted a couple of weeks ago.

The deal had threatened to fall apart over his personal terms but the Irons returned to the negotiating table in order to finalise a deal.

Emerson now appears likely to make the move to the London Stadium with an announcement expected this evening or early tomorrow.

  1. I can’t explain why I just can’t bring myself to get excited by palmeri , feel underwhelmed . Obviously I want him to be fantastic but no real excitement ⚒

  2. The players we’ve not been excited about have proven to be the better players we’ve purchased over the years.
