Sakho’s stunning appearances deal

|

Exclusive by Hugh Southon

diafra-sakho-542296West Ham will be ready to let Diafra Sakho leave the club in January if they get a bid of £12 million plus.

But the player will require some top personal terms after ClaretandHugh discovered the massive bonus clauses attached to his current wage deal.

The Senegal hitman is now on a basic wage of £33k a week with  appearance bonuses recently raised to £30k a start and £15k should he be on the bench – the biggest  of their kind of any player at the club.

And it’s that in part which has given him the incentive to make his marathon journey back from injury but he would still be forced to face a tough medical given his long term back issues

Rennes are expected to come back in but they will need to offer more than the €9 million euros they put to the Hammers in January when Sak made his failed attempt to force a move to France.

They are unlikely to be able to get anywhere near the appearance bonuses so a biggish signing on fee and a hefty minimum wage would be required.

    Worth every penny.

That’s plenty of money… He just wants to play and arguably him and Chic would make a better front 2.
Rennes won’t pay more than £60k..
I dont like him but he is the most rounded striker we have and think he could get goals

£30k a start? Why not just bring Sakho on from the bench after 10 minutes each game?

As long as he puts in a shift on the pitch and bangs in the goals, it’s got to be money well spent. His personal issues are his own.

This sounds a bit suspect. His remuneration terms have changed, but he has no new contract expiry date (which would increase Sakho’s value)?! Sullivan has never been in the business of giving away free money and I can’t imagine he has started now. If he’s too tight to change the manager – which we desperately need – why would he suddenly start paying Sakho 15k a week to sit on the bench for the next 6 months? It’s a world cup year and Sakho is an international. He has a very real chance of going to the world cup – why does he need extra motivation to get fit?

My ‘interpretation’: Sullivan is adamant he is going to sell Sakho in January and wants fans to think this is because Sakho is such an ‘awful man’ who hates the club and wants out despite the club giving him a pay rise and treating him so nicely when injured – and has absolutely nothing at all to do with the staggering incompetence the board has displayed time and again in managing him. You can’t fool all the people all the time, Sullivan!

Give fans the truth about the Rennes move – Bilic himself said there is more to it than has been reported. My guess, as others have said, is:

Bilic tells Sakho he’s 4th choice striker behind Hernandez, Carroll and even Antonio. Sakho goes to Sullivan and asks for a transfer (who would accept being behind a RW as a forward?). Sullivan then gives it ‘yeah, you can have a transfer if you can find someone who will actually buy you’. Sakho does just that and then Sully mugs him off again as he can’t find a replacement and doesn’t let him conclude the deal.

(In Bilic’s defence, he probably doesn’t know Antonio isn’t a centre forward).

If that’s true – I would have to say ,
Again and again you here “taking whufc to the next level”
So Surely in today’s market values of players wages and bonuses his earnings are good value – as we want to be at the next level / top six !!!
In order to do so we have to pay the big bucks !!!
What the owners/ board should finally do is stop pretending at being a big club and actually be a BIG CLUB !!!!
