Sam’s sends depressing Christmas message!

|

I hadn’t intended posted again over the next two or three days until I came across this quote!

It appears on the club’s official site  at the very foot of the post mortem with manager Sam Allardyce on Saturday’s defeat at Old Trafford.

Now I don’t want to depress anybody unduly at what is always a fabulous time of the year but this does need a little attention.

Here’s what our manager has to say about the team’s prospects over the next few weeks:

“We’ll be OK when we get everybody back – Andy Carroll, Ricardo Vaz Te, Stewart Downing and Winston Reid.

“All these players need to be fit and part of the squad. When they are, along with the others, we’ll achieve better results and pick up more points.”

Now then, when I last checked, there was no return date planned for Andy although there are hopes he could play a part from the bench against West Brom on Saturday.

Vaz is about seven weeks away, Stewart Downing four or five, and Winston Reid four weeks minimum!

If that truly is the boss’s best hope for us I am heading into my most depressed Christmas holiday for many a long year.
