Shearer calls West Ham embarrassing, hopeless, pathetic

Alan Shearer has branded West Ham as embarrassing, hopeless and pathetic

Speaking as a pundit on BBC Sport’s Match of the Day, Shearer laid into the Hammers and their apparent lack of effort when it came to attacking or defended their newly-promoted opponents.

“You would think, coming into this game on the back of three defeats, at home, in front of your fans, you’d think a bit of fight, roll your sleeves up, show the fans you mean business,Whatever you want to say, whether it was embarrassing, hopeless, pathetic – use any of those words, you can pick any of them, and that would describe West Ham’s performance.

How on earth are you going to score goals with no one in the middle? Have a look at the body language of West Ham.

“Walking. Jogging. No intensity, whatsoever. If you perform like this, you’re going to get nowhere.”

Despite it being a game neither side deserved to win our team does not deserve those adjectives. Those words are better suited to the Newcastle team Shearer relegated as Newcastle manager.
He is just being provocative as he gets slammed for being bland.

When I saw this headline I was thinking about posting a bunch of expletives, Having read it all- he’s absolutely right-hit the nail on the head.

Agreed mate, although to be honest following yesterday’s display I’d say he’s being rather kind😄

There appears to be a lack of leadership. Shearer’s examples tell the story and prove his point. I don’t see Pelle yelling from the sidelines like Klopp or Guardiola. Post match interviews he’s like a mouse. Arnie doesn’t strike me as a motivator. He was one of the ones strolling about. Surely a captain is more than some who “carries the ball out and calls the coin toss”.

    Spot on Shearer .

Although West Ham deserve heavy critisizm, ‘ embarrassing, hopeless, pathetic ‘ also describes Shearers weekly plum in mouth performance on MOD every Saturday evening. The fact that Traore is very fast does not sum up West Ham’s performance.

I said yesterday.Pelle and the team should watch MOTD,and listen to Shearer dismantle the team.He was spot on.I am missing Moyes.Really think he had a bright future plan for the club and would have spent that £100 mill much more wisely.

It would be interesting to ask Moyes exactly who he would have bought if he had the 100 million I assume from his previous comments it would have been mainly players who are already playing in the prem he was always saying he wanted players with PL experience
I think he would have had a better squad ( ie some youth & people who wanted to play & would put a shift in ) whereas MP has gone for so called technical players & is trying to get the team to play a different way unfortunately he has neglected to ensure they have a good work ethic

  • FUGMASTER says:

Spot on 64; with you all the way with those comments; Moyes is a massive loss

The fact is that this team is simply no not good enough. If you doubt that, take a look at this season’s results & at the league table. Alan Shearer is, therefor, correct.
