Slav may drop striker bombshell

|

parfittSlaven Bilic may launch a major surprise at Blackburn tomorrow by handing exciting striker  Djair Parfitt-Williams a run out in fifth round clash.

David Gold has revealed that the 19 year old is on the squad and it certainly isn’t outside the realms of possibility that the youngster could be called into the action.

The teenager –  whose  two senior appearances came in the Europa League during the opening weeks of this season against Lusitans home and away – is a hugely exciting talent.

He was born in Bermuda but raised in the United States and  can play on either wing, as a striker or in a deep-lying number 10 role and will hope to take advantage of the Hammers’ lack of fit forwards.

Andy Carroll (adductor) and Enner Valencia (ankle) have joined Diafra Sakho (thigh) on the sidelines, leaving January signing Emmanuel Emenike as the only fit senior striker.

Gold, when asked about Parfitt-Williams this morning, tweeted: “Djair Parfitt-Williams is in the squad for Sunday’s game.”

Would love to see Oxford as CB tomorrow. Slav wanted to loan him to a championship club so he obviously feels thats his current level. Could give needed experience at his natural CB position. I’ve not seen much of the lad above but hes been prolific in the academy. But lets hope he can make the extra step if given the chance!

Never know until you put him on the pitch how he will react,he could save us big money in the summer if he takes to the first 11,
Playing with the talent we have on display he only has to take his chances,
Hope to see theladget the chance as well as Oxford

Great news, he has been in good form all season would be great to see youth given a chance, like 8909 would also like to see Oxford at CB but if we don’t have a recognised RB can understand if he is not given a chance.

It is up to Bilic, remember what Sam did with with young players, he sent them out to slaughter and took us out of the cup, then those young players all left the club! But when will Mr Gold accept it should be up to the Manager to announce Any Team news and Injury news.

Hippo did it with stupid intent,we are talking 1 or 2 players here,
This lad will be on the bench at best ,
Oxford can prove he is a right back as much as a midfielder or Antonio did as a temporary right back, when you have Oxford talent you can play any where especially in this team,
When you own the club you say what you like but I don’t think he puts pressure on his manager to play anyone,
At least DG uses the Internet to talk to little old us,
