Son of Gus in Irons link

dpoyetWest Ham are reported have beaten off big interest from Newcastle United and Stoke City to land highly promising midfield prospect Diego Poyet.

Talk Sport are reporting the Charlton teenager – son of Sunderland boss Gus – has progressed through the youth ranks to become the club’s Player of the Year despite only making his first team debut in January.

The 19 year old has reportedly also been tracked by the likes of Monaco and Borrusia Dortmund along with several other top class European outfits.

However, Talk Sport are reporting we have won the race for the youngster and that the youngster has agreed a four year deal the Irons.

Charlton will be due compensation for Poyet as he is the under age of 24, with the fee set to be decided by a tribunal.
