Soucek deal will fund club for ten years

|

Czech fourth-tier side FC Slovan Havlíčkův Brod are reportedly set to bank  £1.5million following Tomas Soucek’s permanent move to West Ham. Soucek officially signed a four-year deal with The Hammers last Friday after a successful loan stint in east London.

The 25-year-old played for his home town side in Havlíčkův Brod as a boy before signing his first professional contract with Slavia Prague in 2014. According to Czech website VIP Sport, FC Slovan Havlíčkův Brod is now owed 10 per cent sell-on clause of the £15million fee West Ham will pay to make Soucek’s move to the London Stadium permanent.

Slovan chairman Pavel Mazánek has claimed the 43million Czech koruna (£1.5m) cash injection will cover the club’s running costs for the next decade.   “The club’s annual budget is four and a half million,” Mazánek told Blesk.

The club was founded in 1911 and celebrated its centenary in 2011. The club has taken part in the Czech Cup on numerous occasions, reaching the first round in 2007–08.
