Spurs defender link wide of mark

|

Reports that West Ham are interested in Tottenham’s Michael Dawson look well wide of the mark.

The 30 year-old has regularly been linked with the Spurs central defender at around £4 million but it appears that Hull City boss Steve Bruce is likely to take him.

That we should still be linked with a player whom many see as somewhat error prone is a surprise in itself.

And when Claretandhugh inquired as to the truth of the rumour this morning we were told:  “With Winston Reid, James Tomkins and James Collins available, we are well served in that area.

“And given that Cheikhou Kouyate can also cover in we really are looking to strengthen elsewhere rather than at central defence.”

One report this morning claimed that Sam Allardyce hadn’t given up hope of taking Dawson.

Our source added: “The situation is that we don’t really need another and even if we did he would have to fit David Sullivan’s 27 or under ruling.”

    Phew! Thank f€<k!
I think it was ravel who rather wonderfully exposed this donkey's vulnerability to pace! And now we are being linked with him! Oh the irony!

But interestingly it's not his lack of pace or ability that is the apparent deal breaker but his age!
We have an over 27 policy but with Barry's deal with the toffee's hitting a snag I was wondering how it would effect us trying to sign the former city man? COYI!
