Stop the messing – get Cash deal done

|

West Ham’s initial bid of £10 million for Nottingham Forest’s Matty Cash – if true – is a big error of judgement and needs to be upped immediately to land a player who looks exactly what we need .

We all understand how the Hammers negotiate, going in as low as possible before getting closer to what’s required. It worked with Felipe Anderson and Seb Haller but we are now entirely different circumstances and need to get a player such as Cash in NOW.

This is not the time to be messing around notably when Milan have already offered £15 million for the 22 year old.

We share the terrible anxieties surrounding the Hammers right now and Cash – despite excelling for Forest at right back – is essentially a right sided midfielder with a big reputation and who apparently is keen to join the Irons.

He appears to be exactly what we need and with anger growing among the fans this can do nothing but cause more of the same.

Cash is part of a Forest side currently fourth in the Championship under owners who aren’t too short of dough so there’s no chance them selling on the cheap.

Reports say Cash is rated an £18 million player by Forest and had the Hammers gone in with £15 million plus extras this piece would not have been written.

A realistic bid needs to be place right now and no messing.

Agreed thinks must be bad when even claret and hugh are turning against the board

  • Farehamhammer says:

Well said !Absolutely on the money !Most of have a deep fear that if we get relegated we will fall right through the leagues !

    • Julian Woodhouse says:

The whole way the club does business is a joke, there is no intent but rather just a “putting it out there just in case you feel like donating to the Hammer’s cause” 2023 can’t come quick enough but hope we still have a club to sell.

Can only assume then that you think this is not a panic buy but a premier league quality player, better than anything we’ve got. You must have seen him play and think he’s worth 18 million.

    • Alright you win…he’s not what we want. I’m wrong you’re right. Living in the midlands and having Forest supporting friends I’m told he is agile, attacking in midfield and a good right back. At this stage he sounds ok

  • Robert Paul Bass says:

Don’t see how any player with real ability and ambition would want to come here with the realistic possibility of falling out of the league. Still believe loans/loans with option is what we will get if anything

  • The Cat says:

Apparently, Forest Want £18M for Cash……… I don’t think that is unreasonable at this point in time and how they stage the payments or throw in a couple of crocks in with the deal is their concern….. But get it DONE. As we NEED him like yesterday.
West Ham are beginning to look like a Slow Car Crash, where we ALL know how it will end!

Really? On what do you base this statement on?

The board need to take responsibility as the team has no depth and no challenge for places . The players also need to take responsibility for their lack of effort . It’s looking no better under Moyes than MP so it was the manager was it . Ihear the hype from the players about Moyes but they are still playing rubbish and not running enough. Poor mentality and attitude . We need players to provide competition so the board need to step up.

  • no way hes leaving forest tothe hammers. the clubs poss even money to swap places

  • Tony Pezzolesi says:

Forest are not going to sell him when they are still in the mix for the play-offs. We are wasting our time. Mainly because a) they will not sell and b) even if they did we will not pay the going rate for him
