The big Lucas Paqueta question

|

The big question tomorrow night at the London Stadium – apart from whether we can grab  a much needed victory – surrounds the captivating Lucas Paqueta.

Lucas Paqueta is needed for the next games

The big Lucas Paqueta question

Is he ready to play and can he be at his best even were it to be in a 20 minute cameo role? If not what’s the point of playing him after injury has kept him out of the squad for seven weeks of the season writes Hughie Southon.

The chances of him of a recurrence of the injury is obvious and most backroom staff I have spoken to believe it should be avoided. If we can’t beat the Bees without him when we have much tougher looking games coming along we really do have a problem and the one man team accusations will  appear to have serious substance.

I fear David Moyes may take the sort of chance he wouldn’t with any other player after  three defeats on the trot, scoring no goals and conceding eleven.

The one player I want to see back is Angelo Ogbonna who produced a magnificent performance at Arsenal and was then immediately dropped. The same thing happened to Danny Ings at Sheffield United. These decisions which have you shaking your head in amazement.

Back to the point – and will Paqueta play any part  tomorrow night? I seriously hope not with Villa, Newcastle, Spurs, Wolves and Fulham on or agenda after Everton (not easy) and Burnley.
