Tomkins may be out for a month

|
tomkins-255812James Tomkins has been ruled out of tomorrow evening’s clash with Liverpool and could be out for up to a month.
Speaking at his morning presser the manager said: “James Tomkins got injured in the Southampton game, he felt it before during the warm up but he said he was OK.
“At half-time he said he was OK but shortly after that it went, it’s a calf injury. He has a scan this morning, so after that we’ll know more. It’s probably a few weeks if we are lucky, maybe more. It’ll be two to four weeks.”
And that means Joey O’Brien is almost 100 per cent guaranteed to start tomorrow and suggests that Sam Byram could continue to be involved in Premier League action. He said: “We are OK, Sam is OK for the Premier League and also Joey O’Brien is back after a long absence. Of course he is a good player, his quality was never in doubt.
“Losing Tomkins is a big blow for us but we have options. It’s good we got Sam after what happened to Carl Jenkinson and with Joey we are well covered.” On the replay he declared: “We have played Liverpool many, many times, this is the third in a short space of time. They were different line ups every time.
Whoever they play, they have good players, they are all Liverpool players. We are well prepared for whatever team they come with. I don’t see it as a big problem.”

BUBS I totally agree what is wrong they cannot see this – Oxford has to start tomorrow – if he does not start we could very well lose this game with JOB at RB. Bilic if you start him tomorrow and they score and he is any way involved you will be held responsible for the defeat. Oxford must be tearing his hair out. Team for tomorrow in most peoples eyes would be Randolph, Oxford, Reid, Ogbanna, Cresswell, Obiang, Kouyate, Moses, Payet, Valencia and Emmenike. come on Bilic trust this team. Get Noble and Song out of their and give our best midfield 3 of Obiang, Kouyate and Payet a game together at last.

Bit of a problem with that, Emenike can’t play as he wasn’t registered in time for the first game.

As usual, you have totally ignored how well JOB played against Liverpool. Everyone else noticed it, but for some reason…hmmm…what would that be, I wonder?….you didn’t. I am not saying he is the best thing since sliced toast – he isn’t! – but I am not unhappy with him as reserve. Look at all those bellly-aching about Collins for some rash challenges? He had the best stats of all our defenders last season, yet you and/or your ilk would have had him sold off in the blink of an eye. JOB might struggle; he IS our reserve reserve (now Jenks gone and Tomkins injured). But he he will give it a good shot. You guys praying JOB messes up to justify your position is no way to go to a match. Now then, how about another old chestnut: a good moan about Noble, yeah? May work hard, but useless donkey, yeah? …But, shhh…you’re not reading this, are you, Bubs?

Well said. I have no idea why people wouldn’t get behind the player, the manager is happy with him, that’s all that matters. Looks to me like any goal conceded then JOB will be made the scapegoat no matter. As for continuing to label fans……lol
