Tonka talking: How I became a Hammer

|

Ray Stewart has become a genuine legend to those Hammers who grew up with the club’s best ever right back until perhaps Vladi Coufal and watched the club’s penalty king in his prime.

Tonka has now become ClaretandHugh’s exclusive blogger but – as is the case with many players – very little of their behind the scenes Hammers life has ever become known to the supporters.

Today CandH change that with Ray telling how he became a Hammer – a story he will be telling during the rest of the week,

Tonka sat down with CandH’s Gonzo and in today’s first video explained how and when he came down from Scotland to sign a deal which would start a lifelong love affair with our great club.

He also explains how he became that penalty king supreme – a man with fire in his boots when he stepped up to the spot.

During the rest of the week he will be discussing his relationship with the great John Lyall, the chances he had to move on, his team-mates, the culture of the club and where we are right now,

Don’t miss out – watch Gonzo’s first interview with the great man here today.
