Tough for Irons but there are upsides

|

It’s really hard to see an upside when games get postponed and all the so called experts claiming things will remain much the same or get worse as far as the pandemic is concerned.

But with the Hammers running into a sticky patch with form and injuries maybe things aren’t as bad as they first looked.

OK, there’s no answer until January the earliest as far as replacing one or two centre backs is concerned – never mind finding a striker  – but at least it allows the likes of Cressie and Ben Johnson to get fit – HOPEFULLY for the game at Spurs next week.

Our problems have run a little deeper than the two defenders however and the lack of tempo in what is supposed to be our effective counter attacking game, was a particularly noticeable feature of the Burnley affair.

That’s tiredness but as a top four hopeful team but we need to find a way of breaking down teams who simply decide to sit deep and park the bus as was the case at Turf Moor.

I’m praying next Wednesday’s game is on as I believe it is hugely important that we make it to Wembley and win something at long, long last.

It would be an assurance that we really are becoming the club we all believe ourselves to be and with Spurs having had their last game on December 5 we have to press home any small advantage.
