Transfer market update: Every Irons rumour rated

|

There is so much fake West Ham transfer news doing the rounds that this morning decided to give the very latest round up on it all as we have learned from inside the club.

Jack Butland: Inquiries made but things on hold until England’s World Cup destiny sorted.

Felipe Anderson: Wages are not a problem which will be sorted at around £80k a week. However, the clubs are still haggling over a fee. Hopes remain high inside the club this will be done.

Lukasz Fabianski: Understood to be virtually completed and announcement on the way

Issa Diop: Has come into the frame over the last few days with some reports  saying we are close to a deal. The reality is talks are ongoing and at a relatively early stage.

Marlon Santos: Early interest has waned in the Barcelona central defender.

Ya Ya Toure: Everything we hear says the 35 year old is a non starter for us.

Alfie Mawson: Talks continuing with the Hammers seeing him as a priority player. With a history of transfer dealings with the Swans behind us this looks set  to get done at around £25m.

Anthony Martial: Only a year left at Man United but reported as wanting out. Possible but unlikely

Chris Smalling: Ditto above

Jack Wilshere: The transfer market hardy annual as far as the Irons are concerned. Very unlikely.

James Maddison: Cooked up by the media following rumours in December. Not likely

Jack Grealish: The Villa playmaker looks certain to move from crisis club Villa amid interest from ourselves and Sp..s. Would be a great signing but we are bound to face a huge battle.

Thanks Hugh – a very neat summary.
What is the issue Michail Antonio? I think he can do a brilliant job for West Ham but are there other issues getting in the way apart from the current injury?

  • Clive says:

Jordan Lukaku? Notice his omission and not surprised. Not even worth mentioning despite the Daily Mail article since I cant see why we would need another left back when we already have two in Cresswell and Masuaku.

Thanks Hugh – very helpful and also consistent e.g. if we are interested in both Mawson and Issa Diop then it is unlikely that we would still be interested in Marlon Santos

  • Clive says:

The chances of us signing Mario Gotze laughable too I guess.

  • Mr Buddy Lurve says:

Javier Pastore is the only other notable exception to the list… I guess his horrific greed is ruling him out?

keep Adrian, forget signing Fabianski – terrible decision imo. also Mawson is very average, complete waste of money as we will never get a return. Nobody in for them except us – I wonder why !!! I do like the links to Smalling, Diop and Anderson. I really would love to think we could get Martial to be our number 9. I believe Arnie is a 10 but close to the 9. I don’t rate Grealish – much prefer Loftus Cheek. I don’t know anything about Lukaka but I would sell Cresswell. If we got a proper 9 I would also sell either Hernandez or Carroll (and Hugill). I like the links to Smalling and Diop (a different level to Mawson). I would love to see us go back in for a top midfielder like Carvallo.

Totally agree , johnham1 …. except for the idea of selling Carroll . In fact imo Carroll should be in Russia . Same mistake as Hodgson .

Good post mate mawson like you say average as for cresswell sell please has nobody seen how many goals came from his dreadful defending. In fact he can’t defend used to be good pushing forwards but that also now is gone downhill . Masu can’t defend either but forwards is technically gifted. For me hugill Carroll definitely sell too and let pelle get in pastore Anderson and diop to start with.

Seems like same old same old . Cheap relegated players and loads of fake news with speculation rife . We don’t know what to think as fans / supporters . I suppose pactiance is the only way to go . But players from relegated teams just doesn’t seem good enough .
Nonsense , in fact . Can’t see any forward motion and hopefully I’m wrong . We have to put trust in Pellegrini and the board ,,,, that’s worrying where the board is concerned .
First game 2018/19 is away to Liverpool . We could do without being embarrassed .

    • Irish Hammer says:

I understand your frustration about “Cheap relegated players” but look at Maguire for Leicester and Robertson for Liverpool both went down with Hull and then sold 2of the best young defenders in the PL IMHO Must say while I am trying not to get excited till deals are done I am at least hopeful of a good window.Really hope Diop signs he could be a truly world class player in a season or two

Lazio have allegedly bumped up the fee for Anderson tell them to do one imho…

Would agree this window looking the same as all the others lots of speculation until the season tickets have been renewed then the purse is shut and manager scraping around for the dregs of the market. Mawson is not a World Beater if he was Swansea wouldn’t have gone down, agree about Adrian, if you are going to go for Fabianski and sell Adrian instead just but a cheap keeper and keep Adrian, he is probably the best we are going to get and most of us fans like him.

    • 92pc have already renewed

      • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

Exactly, I haven’t had the call from them yet about a season ticket and judging by how unprofessional and lacking in transparency our ticket office is I doubt it will be forthcoming but live in hope 😉 The claret membership is a waste of time also last season they didn’t put a single ticket on it I had to print them all out and I don’t think there was a game that I couldn’t have attended by waiting a few days so will save the £40 to put towards a ticket instead.
