Traore work permit hearing early next week

TraoreWest Ham are hoping to get a positive outcome to their application for  Lacina Traore’s work permit application at a hearing early next week.

The club have been chasing the Monaco striker for several days and sources inside the club today revealed the hearing is to be held in the early part of the week.

Indeed Claretandhugh believes that to be on Monday – as is being reported by our friends at

The club is aware that the 6ft 8in Ivorian has not played the required number of international games to qualify automatically for a permit but are confident they will succeed as he has been a regular for his nation over recent games.

A source said: “Nothing is certain in this sort of scenario but, yes, it’s fair to say there is a degree of confidence.”

Should Traore become a Hammer he will become the tallest player to ever play in the Premier League – beating Peter Crounch by half an inch.
