TV looks for a shock as Oggy gets ready

|

Angelo Ogbonna is taking nothing for granted when the Irons go into TV action against AFC Wimbledon tomorrow evening (Sat).

The match kicks off at 7.45 pm in from of the BT Sport 2 cameras and the Italian central defender is looking for a similar result to the win over the League One outfit in the EFL Cup.

An added edge is that AFC are manager by Wally Downes who was sacked from West Ham before taking over at the club.

It’s fair to assume the reason we make it onto the box is based on the cameras wanting to record a shock and our inconsistency is seen as a reason why that could happen.

Oggy – like the rest of us – is taking nothing for granted and as a result of the fangers involved in these games the manager llooks set to name a strong team.

Expect Samir Nasri to hold his position in midfield whilst at the back there looks sure to be a run out for Masuaku with Fredericks figuring at some stage.

We do not expect to see Arnie but hope we are wrong meaning that either Carroll or Antonio will be handed the central attacking role.

Ognonna told www.whufc.com: “We played there and already won there in the other cup, but this is another game in another competition and we want to do well there again.

“I was fortunate enough to win the Coppa Italia in 2015 during my time with Juventus and I want to win another trophy, this time with West Ham.

“We have a long way to go and we have to play every game on its merits and take things step by step.Angelo Ogbonna celebrates scoring against Liverpool in the 2016 FA Cup fourth round

“When you are young, you should never think about money, but about being first in the squad, then in the team, then winning trophies – collective trophies and not individual trophies,” he insisted.

“Then, if the team plays well and wins things, you can also win individual accolades, but the most important thing is to help your team to win titles.”

I am not so sure Nasri will be risked in the game, I would think they would save him for Wolves on the Tuesday which is argueably more important, that is a six pointer in the race for European football.

The manager seems to be taking the competition seriously so you can’t rule anybody out.
