Vital Monday night as Hammers slip down league

|

The Hammers slipped to 17th place in the Premier League this afternoon amid some surprising results from the teams around them following Brentford’s hefty 4-0 defeat at Aston Villa.

That in turn lifted the midlanders into 14th place with a point more than us whilst Leeds slipped into the bottom three following a 2-3 home feat by Fulham.

In the remaining games affecting our league position Wolves now find themselves second off bottom after being beaten 4-0 at Molineux by Leicester City who are now in 16th position and Saints grabbed a deserved 1-1 draw against leaders Arsenal.

It is now difficult not to overstate to importance of our game against the Cherries who themselves sit in 13th place with two points more than us from 12 games.

The Irons biggest injury worry beyond Nayef Aguerd remains Craig Dawon who only has an outside chance of making the squad for the game as he has swelling on his leg.
