West Brom move for Downing

|

DowningWest Ham United have rejected advances from West Bromwich Albion to take Stewart Downing on loan for the season.

It’s the first approach the club has received for any of its players this summer and it was met with an immediate knock back.

A club source told ClaretandHugh exclusively there was absolutely no reason to agree to such a deal and that the  request had been immediately refused.

He told this website exclusively: “There was a move but the response was: “Why would we allow a club like WBA to take Stewart Downing on loan?

“The Hammers had no hesitation in turning them down – it makes no sense to the Irons at all.”
