West Ham ref watch…oh dear!

|

Premier League referee Peter Bankes had a poor performance at the London Stadium yesterday with Brentford the main benefactor.

Probably one of the worst refereeing decisions of the day was when he gave a free-kick to Brentford because there goalkeeper dropped the ball on Antonio’s head, who was standing completely still.

West Ham fans also felt hard done by missing out on a penalty with a goalmouth scramble where Mikey was fouled.

Declan Rice and Vladimir Coufal were both fouled when a Brentford player came from behind them but each time the ref gave Brentford a free-kick against the  Hammers.

How their centre back Zanka managed to stay on the pitch is beyond me despite fouling all game at least seven times and yet Bankes did almost nothing as he lost control of the game.

Another missed incident by the man in black is when a Brentford defender just fell over right in front of the linesman and Bankes gave it as a foul against Jarrod Bowen, who was about a metre away.  Unbelievable!

I hope Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) bring him up over his performance when they review it.

    Better refs on Wanstead Flats.

      Or Hackney Marshes.

One of the most inept refereeing performances that I’ve ever witnessed.
Being sat next to a Dad and two lads, I had to bite my tongue several times as I didn’t want to set a bad example. I was absolutely fuming with so many of the refs decisions.

and even a mention in the media…… Referee allowed way to many naughty challenges early on, and then started handing them out like it was Xmas….. poor performance Peter Bankes

Peter Bankes should be demoted to at least the National League possibly even lower he was so bias against West Ham it was unbelievable and he never produced a yellow card to a Brentford player after numerous fouls until the 85th minute an all round terrible performance.

He was absolutely appalling. I’ve seen Graham Poll and Howard Webb at their worst, and Bankes was right up there with them.

Banks being a scouser made brentford look like they had o 12th man in helping them make the Hammers look ordinary with his questionable decisions? As in the week before brentford gaveLiverpool a scare and with out a scouser ref to help em ??? time wasting or fouling to achieve it this scouser in my mind had something to prove that brentford’s display against Liverpool was no fluke and he made sure the Hammers suffered with his absolute shocking decisions
