Hammers striker Lucas Perez wants to return to Spain and hopes a deal can be concluded early in the Summer transfer window.
Estadio Deportivo reports that the player is still keen to play in Spain after he missed out of a move to Real Betis in the winter.
The Spanish club wanted to loan the forward until the end of the season but West Ham rejected the offer saying that they will only interested in a permanent deal.
The Hammers are thought to want to get back as much of the £4m they paid Arsenal for Perez back in August last year.
It remains to be seen whether Betis come back in for Perez but if so he could be joining his teammate Adrian who is hotly tipped to re-join his former club.
Another transfer rumour doing the rounds is a re-emergence of speculation that Javier Hernandez could move to Valencia based on his bizarre choice of hair colour for the final game of the Premier League season likening to Valencia’s away colours and their nickname of the Oranges.
Hernandez was heavily linked with a move away from West Ham in January.
I feel that Chicarito has never really shown a love for the Hammers – true he scores some handy goals (sorry couldn’t resist 😉 but I would not be heartbroken if he left
Perez has never really been given a chance and despite scoring a number of goals hasn’t over impressed
I have to admit i have been one of perez’s harshest critics but the guy has grown on me in his last few games he has played.
I don’t think he a player to start from the off(everton?)but when he has come on as a sub he looks more positive than chicarito and has a better attitude.
I know he wants to leave but i don’t think you will get a better player for 4 mil.
I agree…I felt the same way but he has delivered from the bench more often than not .
Off subject completely does anyone know if ‘London ‘is being removed from our badge next season . Personally I think it’s a disgrace it was ever put there in the first place .
I agree that Perez is perhaps the smart option to keep over Hernandez given he’s on half the wage and is probably similarly effective when coming on. If he is intent on going to Spain, I’d want a bit more than we paid given he has more value in La Liga and has performed pretty well there in the past. It looks like Vigo will stay up by the skin of their teeth so Gomez will cost 44m. Perhaps 35 plus Perez would be a good deal for both parties.
