West Ham unveil home and away shirts

|

West Ham United have officially unveiled the Club’s Official 2019/20 Umbro home and away kits this morning.

Inspired by the Hammers’ historic 1980 FA Cup-winning team, the strips are a modern twist on the iconic colours worn by Billy Bonds, Trevor Brooking and co on the road to Wembley, climaxing in an unforgettable win over Arsenal, 40 years ago. With a retro feel, but designed to appeal to all generations, the home shirt features a claret V-neck and sky blue chest, including a tonal stripe design, sky blue sleeves and claret cuffs and the Umbro diamond motif design on each shoulder.

The West Ham United crest is in full colour with an embroidered frame, while the FA Cup winners are honoured further with a 1980 crest graphic on the back of the neck.

The home kit is completed by claret shorts featuring a full-colour crest and claret shorts.

The all-white away kit will bring memories of that sunny afternoon at Wembley flooding back. The shirt is white with a claret and blue striped V-neck and cuffs, with the 1980 crest graphic on the back of the neck, with the look being completed by classic white shorts and socks.

Club captain Mark Noble said: “To wear this shirt, especially with the West Ham badge on it – it takes an honest player, hard-working, a player that leaves everything on the pitch and plays for the crest on the shirt. When you play for this Club, you join a family and players do realise that this is not just an ordinary Football Club, this is a great Football Club, with a great history, and the shirt represents just that.”

Both shirts have under arm body mapping for ventilation, while all shirts, shorts and socks are made using lightweight, highly technical performance materials.

Fans who pre-order the official 2019/20 Umbro home and away kits before midday on Friday 7 June will also receive it before it goes on sale in stores on Thursday 13 June.

What’s going on with the third kit?

  • Kenny Irons says:

Better than last seasons, but light blue shorts would have been better to break the claret up from the shirt.

Claret shorts on the home kit? What were they they thinking? Seriously poor choice and I thought we had a design team from the fans? Away kit is nice. However I don’t like the London badge on either. It’s not moaning but my opinion

Claret shorts with a home kit? What were West Ham thinking? I thought we had a few fans on the OSB design kit? Away kit is nice but the home shorts need to be white. It doesn’t look right.
