Wilshere’s challenge

|

Jack Wilshere sees Watford as a big challenge as the Hammers approach the final game of the season.

He was delighted to get minutes against Southampton and has pledged to work much of this summer to be 100 per cent fit for the next campaign.

In the meantime it’s important we beat Watford, break  the 50 point barrier and from and hopefully see far more of the former England midfielder than we did during the current campaign.

Speaking to www.whufc.com he said: “We want to finish as high up the table as possible,” he confirmed. “We have missed a few opportunities to push on this season but the last four or five games we’ve played really well and we want to take that into next season.

“Especially, after last season, obviously I wasn’t here I know but the lads weren’t happy with there they finished in the league, so we want to finish as high as possible.

“All we can do is win our last game and it’s a tough game, Watford away, with them obviously preparing for an FA Cup final as well, but all we can do is win and see where it gets us.”

“For me, it’s been a frustrating season, probably one of my worst. I joined the club and wanted to do well and I thought I started well and was getting stronger and stronger, but then I finished a chunk of the season and it was frustrating.

“Now, I’m back and I just want to maintain this level and I am looking forward to next season.”

I think we should be prepared for a lot of players motivated to secure a place in the fa cup final squad. Deeney always wants to put one over on us and if they are playing for their cup final places he will fire the team up like Noble did for the Tottenham game or like he did in the season we were showboating. Hopefully Rice and Anderson are fit and Arnie is in the mood to finish on a high COYI !!!

I think we just need to wind Deeney up – the manger will have to sub him to avoid him getting sent off and missing the FA cup final
