Zarate for Malaga? the fans’ view

|

zarateMauro Zarate looks a possible departure in the January transfer window if Malaga finally show their hand.

The Argentine striker has been linked strongly with the Spanish outfit and the Hammers refused to completely rule out a move to Claret and Hugh.

Here CandH readers on the website forum and the Facebook Group @ https://www.facebook.com/groups/363174467150521/ have responded to his possible departure.

O I do like you Mauro, but think this would be the right move both for club and player.

O Bring back Samuelsen and give him the chance, that boy might have a very bright future and should be acknowledged before some other big club sees him.

O Maybe for once Allardyce was right about Zarate?Good skills but not a real team player too easily dislodged off the ball.Good luck to him wherever he goes.

O We need players capable of what Antonio showed on his goal against ‘pool, hard tackle deep in our own defence, 20 seconds later BOOM he scores in the other end. Zarate ain’t that unfortunately.

O There was always going to be some leakage during the January window . If that’s what he wants to do then good luck to him . We don’t want players that want to leave . Can see a few West Ham youngsters getting the nod ahead of him anyway as we develop .

O Zarate is greedy with the ball a bit blinkered when other players around he could pass to if he changed he’s attitude abit he as a future at West Ham can’t we offload Jellyfish he’s slow & just seems to be getting paid for doing nothing just imo

O It’s easy to say Zarate has been poor in the last couple of games. But this shouldn’t mean we should sell him. The times he has not played at his best is because there isn’t either payet or lanzini playing with him. When he gets the ball he has no one to pass to so he ends up losing it but when payet or lanzini plays he has an option which was shown in games like Chelsea and west brom where he played really well. It’s unfair to say he has a stinking attitude too. He is a great player when you get the best out of him.

I like Zarate and can be a match winner. BUT if he’s not happy being a squad player and wants to leave ! we have to let him go.. All players have to sign up for the Squad..Big squads win championships. And the need to have a plan B & C is paramount.
Like you a lot Mauro. BUT if your not happy GOOD LUCK where ever you end up.

Mauro’s been a useful player off the bench or as a replacement for injured players. He’s the sort of player that Zola would’ve signed. Baring in mind that we must trust what Bilic does, if a player is transferred away, it’s for good reason.

Why would we want to let him go? He has played 20 games this season (including EL). When we had massive trouble with injuries he was there to hold the line. Every player needs to be a squad player, most will never play in every game. Is this another example of lazy journalism??

    Don’t get that Essex !!
The only line Mauro holds is the front and the ball !
He never passes or assists ! Definately doesn’t defend !!
He is not a squad player ?
Bilic can see that and so can many others !!
    Time to move on ,

I see you are still the all knowing oracle that is West Ham..
if he is as bad as YOU say why has he played in so many games & why are Malaga wanting to sign him??
      Never passes
      never assists
      never defends
      not a squad player

Mixed feelings about this one, but really can’t see him starting many games now we have Antonio and the prospect of young Samuelson next season, so my opinion would be if we get a decent offer, then so be it.
I hope we keep Carroll though, He is starting to look good alongside Antonio, and with Sakho to come back two up front is a big improvement.

If Samulsun is at Posh for the rest of the season and Lanzini injured it worth keeping him

  • BrookingtoDevonshire says:

Keep him till the end of the season. If he get’s another chance in the Cup it could be his last one, surely he needs to show a performance like Antonio’s against Liverpool.
I like him but he needs to show the team effort required . He could be quite useful with Lanzini out for over a month.

Let him go if we are going to replace him, if not he is an excellent option from the bench, with Payet and Valencia getting back to fitness he is likely to be on the subs bench where I am not sure he is that happy. Lanzini is who we will miss but if Alex Song can get his fitness back we can put him or Obiang in that position, maybe Obiang just needs some games as Antonio did to show his potential, I would like to see him given a proper run to see how good he can be.
