£30m Iron may be facing Hernadez fate

|

The time has come to wonder what the future may hold for Said Benrahma at the London Stadium.

There are many who believe he still has much to offer – others feel he is not good enough and yet more who feel he simply he could be on his way in the summer.

His appearance at Anfield yesterday after  Jarrod Bowen was forced out of the action was quite simply horrifying.

It’s impossible to remember a single moment when he offered anything whatsoever and to be using such words as ‘potential’ about a player who cost £30 million is frankly absurd.

He is one of three in a small squad whose futures are surrounded by more questions than answers – Kral and Vlasic are the others – and personally I wonder how much longer he can be carried.

He’s not shown himself to be much more than an expensive passenger – an arrival which shows the absurdity of the price tags carried by some players.

When one studies the type of player to which Moyes is clearly attracted – physical and aggressive types it’s tricky working out where he goes next with him.

Remember Javier Hernández!

Personally I wouldn’t be surprised to see him leave in the summer unless there is a rapid improvement over the remainder of the season

I have never been convinced by Benrahma since he joined. Too small and weak. Ineffective in the tackle and constantly makes the wrong decisions in the final third. He has the odd good game but that it about it. No consistency at all. I am also not convinced that he was a Moyes signing either

Agree on your view of Benny, Hugh. Bottom half Prem player. I’ve lost count of the number of shots ballooned over the bar, intercepted passes etc.

However, I don’t see him moving on yet, for one main reason. Moysie likes a tight knit squad. I feel we already need a bare minimum of 5x new players to strengthen the team and squad. You yourself have voiced a need of up to 10 players. Adding to either number will make it harder to gel a new team together.
Equally Moysie hasn’t a record of turning squads over at a fast rate so presuming he also feels the need to add a relatively large number of players in one go, I suspect he will be reluctant to add to that number by selling Benny – unless he needs to raise cash which we have yet to see how much the new ownership dynamic has changed the transfer kitty.

I really am petrified at the thought of dithering dave handling our transfers………..
He sanctioned the departure of Haller for him to go on & be the top scorer in the champions league, then goes on to waste nigh on £60 mil on Benrahma & Vlascic………….
    Scarey !!!!!!!
I fear the worst for the summer transfer window, he will probably resign Carrol & Hugill 😱

A well timed look at all three, Hugh. Benrahma for me has the necessary skill but not the football brain. He too often makes the wrong choice or does not know what to do – the question is can is t be turned around by coaching, or as cc we suspect, he hasn’t got it in him Vlasic – like you, I don’t see him stepping it up in midfield, too often anonymous. Kral – why? What’s he got? DM won’t play him I think all three need to go.
