Bye bye Arthur!

|

Arthur Masuaka will be on his way from West Ham one way or another before the new season gets underway!

After injury and surgery plus a near permanent loss of form the 28 year old DC Congo international is now set to become a part of the club’s history.

Fulham – as we have reported previously – have shown some interest in the left sided midfielder and the Irons are hoping for an offer from the south west London club or any other in this window.

But we understand that even should there be no offer from anywhere, the Hammers will attempt to come to a mutual agreement on a contract which runs out in 2024.

He will have been at the club for eight years should he remain and with David Moyes determined to overhaul the team he is determined to make room on the wage bill of players who are way down the pecking order.

He has provided some great moments during his time with us, some comical defending at times too. When or if he goes wish him on the next step of his career !!!

  • lokfaen says:

Agree with No32. He’s done the great, the good, the bad and the ugly. Your headline is disrespectful, and you should hold yourself to a higher standard

    • The Cat says:

      Spot on……..
I agree that Arthur deserves better than that headline also.
As supporters are noses are often put out of place when it comes down to player loyalty…
But I believe that it cuts both ways, and he deserves a better headline than that.
We are not idiots and clearly understand what that headline implies.

      • No we ain’t idiots either . It means he’s leaving. Dear God. Perhaps the headline should have been. “Arthur Masuaku will leave this summer perhaps for Fulham or on a paid up agreement from West Ham United”. That would have been quite snappy eh? it would also have saved you the bother of clicking on, if in fact you did. It wasn’t a farewell and it wasn’t a knock cos actually I like the geezer. So forget your implications cos they are misplaced and wrong. Ask the question first. We will do a farewell when it is time too. Leave the journalism to us.

Maybe the majority reaction is wrong and that you have got it spot on Hugh…
It’s all about perspective I guess.

          • I know a majority of non journalists are indeed wrong – what is it – a majority of one, two three? I won’t tell you how to do your job if you don’t tell US how to do OURS even when I do the courtesy of explaining our approach. BTW Assuming a majority is right is one of the biggest mistaKes one can make AS WE MAY BE SEEING AT GOVERNMENT LEVEL.

  • Pillman says:

Lokfaen, you are right. We expect high standard from Claret and Hugh. Destroying reputations with a undeserved and disrespectful headline is not the West Ham way, is it? BM6 would have been embarrassed and angry.

  • BillericayDickie says:

Usually like your articles, but I think Arthur deserves a better send off than this.

    • I’m not really sure what you want us to say other than what we have reported. Simply saying what we have been told. It’s not a send off. It’s a report on what will happen when he leaves, We will say our farewells then

  • garysteer says:

Not sure what all this Masuaka ‘loving’ is all about the guy was an absolute liability. Stole a living for last few years. Calamitous in his defending and everytime he came on just a disgrace! Short memories from lots of people I say thank god he’s going. How many points has he cost the team? Waste of space and hood riddance!!!!!!!!

  • garysteer says:

    Good riddance

  • ibhammer says:

Don’t think the article is that bad, so can’t understand all the snowflake offended comments. Some of Masuaku’s defending was shocking.
What surprises me is that the managers he played under seemed to think he was a defender. He definitely ain’t one of them! 😆

  • BoleynIrons says:

How on earth anyone can think he’s been of any value in what is it 6 years plus.
    The wages alone.
129 appearances, some of them as sub.2 goals and 2 assists.
He’s been one of the worst signings I can remember and is still here.
    Costs us points many times.
    Terrible, Terrible player
