Ticket troubles galore as talks drag on

|

TicketofficeThe West Ham ticket office and their new partners Ticketmaster continue to be dogged with multiple teething issues since the move to the London Stadium.

Delayed season ticket access cards, paper tickets, long telephone waiting queues on Premium rate numbers and technical problems with access cards are just some of the early problems to affect supporters.

At the Bournemouth match many of the 10,000 kids season ticket access cards would not work leading to manual checks  by stewards to allow entry. Last week season ticket holders sitting in blocks 215-217 and 221-228 were re-issued new access cards.

Earlier this week season ticket holders were emailed a deadline of 9am on Tuesday for League Cup tickets to secure their seats against Accrington Stanley only to find out that the deadline had passed 5pm the previous day

With just 24 hours to go before the second Premier League home game ClaretandHugh understands that Ticket Master are still struggling to launch the much awaited Ticket exchange and ticket forwarding schemes for the Watford game.

Our source close to the ticket office told ClaretandHugh on Thursday evening “We continue to meet with TicketMaster but  there is no progress on the final launch date but we are awaiting their update on Friday.  At present we cannot confirm it will launch pre-Watford.”

How long they known they were moving to a new stadium? It has been a shambles, they could not open the doors in our section before Bouremouth game, waited outside for ages.

It is once excuse after another. Very poor effort.

Its not fit for purpose (although it worked fine for my WBA tickets lol) and whoever signed this off needs talking to. Also cant upgrade a junior ticket to an adult, for cups games etc. Is it really that hard to program this stuff? Are the club going to compensate everyone who has had difficulties in relation to this, esp those long calls. Course not

They should have tested all the functionality for the site before bringing it online, I guess our club must be the only one with this model ? It is amateur hour, bearing in mind how many problems they have had to charge people premium rates to call to resolve issues of ticket masters making is not acceptable, they can and should provide either a freephone or at least a non premium number to contact them on. I will be using my claret card for the first time this weekend and hope that it will let me through, the website doesn’t tell me which gate I should use although I have looked it up and think I know which gate, also the website has a tab for my tickets which shows nothing, they charge us 1 or 2 quid per ticket on top of the ticket price making potentially in excess of £50k a game for cup games and they can’t hire a developer to fix the programming on our website ?

Again everybody can’t wait to criticise the club and blame them for everything. Ticketmaster are one of the biggest companies in this field & should have been able to avoid this kind of situation. The club have been let down by these fools. Blame them & not the club

Essex – sort of got a point but who employed ticketmaster? who signed it off as fulfilling WHUFC’s requirements? but yes ultimately TM service is poor and ultimately who bares the brunt of it – us. No 32 great idea TM should be made to fund a Freephone number for fans trying to sort issues their site cant deal with.

I have still not received my ticket for the Astra Giurgiu game!

After I picked up a paper ticket, from the ticket office it was not recognised when I tried to enter the stadium.

Presume the chairman are going to write a letter to all those affected by this **** up? Or is it just the standing issue that is a worry to them 🙂

  • WHU647580 says:

Ticketmaster may own the problem, but unfortunately WHUFC hired them and it’s WHUFC customers that are feeling the pain. Not being able to forward/transfer/upgrade a ticket online as promised is a pain, however there is absolutely no excuse for the club to continue running everything through these awful premium phone numbers, they probably shouldn’t be there at all, but if they could stop one set of calls going to them then it should be a free phone number for these three types of issues.
