Price for Oliver Giroud increases

|

Olivier-Giroud1West Ham will need to lodge a club record club transfer bid to land Oliver Giroud. Initially, a price tag of £20m has been quoted in most stories about the 30-year-old Arsenal striker linking him with a move to West Ham but that valuation is set to increase under fierce competition for the front man new reports suggest.

Newcastle is said to be preparing a bid of £22m for the Gunner and French club Marseille are also prepared to pay £24.5m for his services. It also remains possible that Arsenal could part exchange the player in their £50m deal with Lyon for Lacazette.

It could mean that West Ham would have to lodge a bid of £25m or over to land their target on top of wages which could approach £130,000 per week.

West Ham are said to be counting on Giroud’s desire to stay in London but they are also keeping their options open with other striker targets which they are pursuing in parallel to Giroud and Iheanacho.

Just I predicted last week £20 will not be enough, this is Arsenal and Wenger no transfer will be either easy, quick or cheap. I do hope that the owners are not going to delay other options in the hope of landing Giroud. It will indeed rely on Giroud desiring staying in London as a very high priority even if Wenger finally lets him go which likely won’t be until the final stage of the window if at all. This promises to be Bacca-esque if they have learned nothing.

What an almighty merry-go-round . Crazy . Hernandez sounds good though , if it’s true and he actually signs . Always rated him . Modeste is too expensive and West Ham weren’t to know his value would increase by something like 500% . Giroud may never happen and I must say it wouldn’t disappoint me that much .

Come on lads, let’s not lose our minds here, we’re West Ham and we’re never actually going to sign any forward of note, certainly not anyone on their way up and not anyone in their prime. We’ll end up with another Ayew at best.
