Report: Hammers target Liverpool ace

|

The Hammers are being widely reported as being keen to bring in Liverpool’s Xherdan Shaqiri in the summer transfer window.

Shaqiri could prove a highly interesting addition if the Hammers are ready to go to the likely £22.5 m price tag to reunite him with former Stoke team mate Marko Arnautovic in what could be a really exciting link.

He could  be a crucial reinforcements if the Hammers are going to put pressure on the top seven next term as with him and Yarmolenko putting pressure on each other we would be looking in fair shape.

Grady Diangana did ok down that side but the arrival of Shaqiri would put us at a different level and with reports insisting we were after him last season it would be no surprise to see a bif go in.

There were many media claims  in his home country of Switzerland which suggested that the Hammers tried and failed in a bid to get him to the London Stadium this summer.

Shaqiri joined Liverpool last summer from Stoke City for a bargain £13 million but after an exciting start his form fell away for the Reds.

The 27-year-old has only scored 6 times and 5 assists in 30 appearances and with Jurgen Klopp reportedly looking for a player to apply more pressure to his strike force Shaqiri could be sacrificed  with Samuel Chukwueze from Villarreal being a Liverpool target.

Could of got for cheaper last summer who.he IAS a talent he is best on RW & I think wingers is least position we need. He is also on £100k plus wages so would cost probably £20m & big wages.
Not to mention attitude issues. I’d rather get Harry Wilson who has wicked left foot.
But we need a CM more so Ceballos be great or love us to take a punt on David Turnbull 19yo 15 goals 7 assists too good for SPL & Motherwell wouldn’t ask fro a lot a record fee but their record is £1.8m.

We never take punts on players like Turnbull. We think we’re above those players as a club and fanbase. But look at Andy Robertson as an example of taking a risk. Ryan Fraser at Bournemouth has done brilliantly also.

Makes you wonder why we don’t take a 5m punt on somebody like Turnbull. Might make us a fortune and unlikely to lose much value at 19 even if he doesn’t make the grade.

We should we pai £4m for Sead Hakanbasic & £5 for Edi Fernandes. Edi had experience but not like Turnbull who could become a star I’d not right away great investment. Wish we did take punt like did in Balbuena it worked.
Pellegrini said youth & pace about receuitment first thing last summer. And we could by Turnbull for Carrols yearly wages & even if didn’t settle right away worth it.
And we always get older frees not ones like Enock Kwateng who is string fast RB similar to Wan-Biassaka only 22 & CB cover much better then buying Clyne. Think Fredericks Zaba & Johnson have it but Enock is very good & could send Johnson in loan & use as CB cover.

But you right we won’t take a punt someone like Derby will buy him for £4-5m on £15k wages & in year or two be worth £20m plus. Then we would want.

Llyod Kelly was brilliant buy by Bournemouth that do Smart business like u say Fraser then Brooks for only £10m Mepham too.
