Alese Chelsea call-up looks dead

Alese

West Ham boss David Moyes looks unlikely to call up Aji Alese for first team action at Chelsea after the under 23s central defender and captain appeared against Fulham in the team’ one nil defeat tonight .

It means the lads were knocked out of the Premier League Cup quarter via a second half goal from the Cottagers youngsters.

There had been hopes among many fans that Alese could find himself involved at Stamford Bridge but it’s  highly improbable that he would have been risked tonight if that were to be the case.

David Moyes – as is his way – gave few clues on his likely line up for the match but it now seems that the back four will be Coufal, Dawson, Johnson and Cresswell.

That would allow Declan to remain in front of the defence alongside Tomas Soucek rather than be used as a central defender which is of course where he started life at the academy.

What a terrible admission and awful man management by the manager . He is telling the academy players that they are not good enough without ever seeing them perform on the big stage . . It would also make Moyes decision not to go into the market to boost the squad even more mystifying . We must not let the great European run paper over the cracks . COYI
