Arsenal laughably price Hammers target at £40M

|

According to some highly dubious internet rumours, Arsenal plans to fund a bid for Sporting CP star Viktor Gyokeres by selling Eddie Nketiah to West Ham for £40m.

Mikel Arteta has reportedly told Nketiah that he is free to find a new club as they will not be able to guarantee him playing time next season.

Whilst West Ham once held an interest in the Gunners’ striker, it was at a time when Nketiah would have been available for free. Personally, I found him slightly expensive even when they were practically giving him away, but £40m is laughable. They won’t get anywhere near that amount.

£40M? Gunners are having a laugh with ridiculous price tag

More irritatingly, West Ham were close to signing Gyokeres from Coventry City but considered it too much of a risk—oops.

Gyokeres would certainly be a valuable addition for Arsenal. The Swedish international has scored an impressive 36 goals in 43 appearances for Sporting this season and only seems to be getting better.

He looks to be an excellent player; however, if the Gunners believe they can claw back some of the Declan Rice transfer fee by upselling a cast-off to us, they can think again.
