Bilic sings Antonio’s praises

|

BilicSlaven Bilic may have given a taste of things to come when declaring: ” I’m sure Michail Antonio could do a good job at centre forward – he’s so versatile.”

The manager doesn’t usually do relief…he’s too laid back for that but that was the over-riding emotion after a win based on hard graft over Bournemouth .

He said:: “It was never going to be a pass, pass, pass game – we were missing four out of six players who do the creative things.

But we were great in terms of aggression and team spirit. We created a few chances and I only expected a few but we got what we deserved in the end.

“Antonio is a really versatile player and puts everything in. H’s is also of course a very good player and was at the far post for his header. I think six or seven of his goals came from headers last season.”

Slav admitted it was a real relief to get the result after getting nothing from the Chelsea game and said: “To now be on three points ahead of the Manchester City game is great.

“It was the first game at the new stadium and had we not won there would have been a snowball effect with people asking questions about the new stadium and all that.

“We have a few out but Payet and Lanzine may be back for Thursday and if not for Sunday. Andy Carroll could be a few weeks.”

Just think what Antonio would do to other side if he played in his best position,
He had to cover Valencia as well
If Hippo does not put him in the England set up he is mad he can do so many jobs for a side,
I think he will end up player of the year for us,

Who scored so that we won the last game at The Boleyn, and the 1st game at the LS? The same player who is ‘joint top scorer with his head? The same player who once he could play on the left, scored within a few minutes. Rescue man Antonio. Yet Bilic on the BBC report is still f*ucking with him, saying that he is v versatile, and a good lad who will play for the team, and that includes maybe still playing him at RB.
I’m losing faith in Bilic big time.
Leave Antonio on the RW, and Antonio will do the rest, however depleted the team is. Why can Bilic not only not see this, but that he is beginning to badly affect Antonio’s confidence?
Byram and Antonio on the right pls, and no more f*ucking with Antonio’s confidence…. PLEASE!

You moaned when Bilic played him rb & you now ***** that he praises him saying he is versatile. What the f**k do you want him to??

Antonio was excellent and deserves the praise, if we do sign Jaanmaat we will hopefully always see him up the pitch causing problems and scoring goals for us, Tore showed some signs of improvement today, was Valencia crying when he went off ? I felt sorry for him but he was inneffective today, Callieri and Fletcher looked good together also didn’t they ? Overall a good result onwards and upwards COYI!!!

  • Tone says:

I like the looks of both Calleri & Fletcher as well 32.Calleri looks like he has decent vision as well as good technique,he played a couple of good passes when he came on.Yes he missed one on one at the end but I think he has something about him.
I dont think Valencia was crying,i never noticed it anyway.

Yeah I was in the TB lower in that eternity it took him to walk off looked like he kept holding his shirt up to his face in the way one might to mop up some tears, also his body language was like a defeated man. Anyway hope he dusts himself off and comes back stronger, he has a lot of ability but today he had a game to forget.

  • bubs says:

If Valencia was crying it would at least show some sort of emotion and feeling which his game does not,
He is now a lost cause at our club and is getting worse every game,
A for effort but E for skill E for dribbling E for Passing E for shooting,E for team play
A forward with no goals in him,
Back to the class act not only his head for goals and dribbling he has shown some great defence splitting passes, and when he is up front he is no danger to us with his efforts to get the ball back,
Slav you are seeing the light now put the wingers on there best sides,

    • Fish N Chips says:

“Slav you are seeing the light now put the wingers on there best sides”….Nice 1, Bubs!

  • bubs says:

I hope Tore had permission to move to the left side as he is left footed and Antonio move to the right,
Ops we score never mind we can put them back for the next game,
