Broja competition – report

|

Armando Broja appears to have interest elsewhere amid links with the Hammers.

David Moyes is a huge fan of the Chelsea striker, who spent last season on loan at Southampton and scored nine goals.

The Irons are willing to invest £30m in a deal for Broja but a new report in Italy claims that there is rival interest from Serie A side Napoli.

RAI Sport journalist Ciro Venerato has claimed that Napoli have opened talks with the striker and his representatives over a deal.

The Hammers are said to have intimated their desire to pay Broja a higher salary than the Italian club and they are also said to be willing to pay €25m (£21.2m), which is a significantly lower fee than the Hammers are offering.

This is likely to be a boost for Chelsea, as they will be sitting back and hoping that a bidding war begins to unfold.

We know the Hammers are very interested in doing a deal, so it remains to be seen how interested Napoli are, or whether they’re willing to make a formal offer.
