West Ham negotiated a straight deal with no escape clauses when signing Diafra Sakho from Metz.
ClaretandHugh has established that the only clauses involved in the deal are appearance-based cash additions to his former club and that no ‘release triggers’ are included.
Fears had been arising that the five goal striker’s deal may have release clauses included similar to those contained in Mo Diame’s contract.
In that case the midfielder would have been allowed to listen and move on should any bid of over £3.5 million been made.
However no such deal was done with Sakho’s advisers although the Hammers have done a deal could rise to a maximum of £7 million should the player make around 140 appearances.
A top insider told us exclusively: “There are no escape clauses at all. Details of contracts are confidential but I can asure you there are no release triggers. It’s a great bit of business by the club.”
Early doors but looks like the bargain of the year,so enthusiastic, full of running, and refuses to give up the fight for the ball until it fully crosses the line.He has that knack of being in the right place at the right time. But take nothing away from Valencia,he has the same ability, and had Sakho not scored Valencia would have.Too early to compare really, but is this the new Cottee,Mcavennie?
Even £7m would be an absolute bargain! Quality player and from the reports an stories I’ve read about him a top, top bloke as well. I can’t stop enthusing about the signings we’ve made this summer, hats off to Allardyce and the Davids.
