Confident Moyes ready to climb the table

|

Confident David Moyes is convinced the Hammers have what it takes to climb the table.

There have been few signs on the pitch that we are doing anything much other than struggling but the managers is taking all his cues from the training ground where he seems delighted with that he is seeing.

Words of course are cheap and we await with big interest to see if the lads can carry the same spirit and determination onto the the field as the boss claims he is seeing at Rush Green.

It’s hard to be overly optimistic given the next two games but of we can even escape without a battering that will obviously see confidence rising among the squad.

The manager decided against giving a press conference yesterday claiming that he  had covered most of the points he could make before the cancellation due to Storm Ciara.

But talking at https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2020/february/18-february/david-moyes-positive-team-news-manchester-city-confidence the manager said: “I’ve been really pleased with the application of the players since I came in. I think the players have been spot on, I really do.

It’s not for the want of trying, it’s not for their effort that they are putting in at this present time. I have been really impressed by how they’ve gone about it.

What we need to improve on is the quality, our results, our performances, and more importantly than anything, we have to win.

I’m more than confident we will climb the table. I think the players here are more than capable. I think we have got a good group.

I think they are all fully aware of the situation we’re in and the improvement we need to make to make sure we’re not in the bottom three, and I’m sure come the end we will do.”

Interesting to see Dortmund beating PSG with a front line of two 19 year olds and a 17 year old. Pity we haven’t got a crop of talented, pacy, hungry youngsters to call on. Oh, hang on a minute, yes we have but they are considered too young when over 20 and currently starring at WBA, Charlton, Oxford……….

I am pleased that he is confident ; & I hope that his assessment is correct – I really do – but the next six or seven games will define our season, & if he is wrong then things will be much worse than they are , even now. I will keep my fingers crossed for him & the team ; but I think that he is kidding himself ! Then again, I suppose that he has to make all the right noises. But he runs the risk of getting egg on his face.

Not sure he is kidding himself, he is trying very hard to raise the squad to the level they should be at . Anything less than that is defeatist and no team ever won a relegation tussle, or a title for that matter with a defeatist attitude.
Now is the time for everyone to pull together, club , team and supporters and get behind the players
and make some noise. COYI. .
